In my book, “Outsourcing MRO….Finding a Better Way,” I compare the effects of three MRO storeroom situations on plant supply chain performance and profit/loss scenarios.
First is the MRO “storm” room with excess inventory, poor fill rates, duplicated inventory, questionable locations and circumvented procurement policies. The “storm” room represents a drain on corporate profit and a detriment to plant reliability.
