RADNOR, Pa. – Feb. 19, 2013 – Carlos Tellez, Storeroom Solutions president and CEO, was named one of the leading “2013 Provider Pros-to-Know in the Supply Chain Industry” by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine.
Tellez, named president of Storeroom Solutions, Inc. in 2004, has led the company through a substantial growth period, averaging 20% annually – including expansion of its international presence to Puerto Rico (2008), Mexico (2011) and Costa Rica (2012), supplementing an already existing entity in Canada.
The company is a leading provider of MRO/indirect materials management services, working with clients across diverse industries to drive down the cost of indirect materials while improving maintenance effectiveness and reliability.
The company’s growth under Tellez, includes an increase in employees to 350 as well as an expanded industry footprint, growing from its founding in the newspaper printing industry to include pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food & beverage, chemicals, aerospace, education, energy and utilities, heavy manufacturing, consumer products and more.
“I’m honored to be singled out for the recognition but it’s the hard work of all of our employees that have propelled Storeroom Solutions to its current position as one of the country’s leading providers of indirect material management services,” Tellez said. “We all work hard to bring exceptional, innovative inventory supply services to our clients that help them achieve their goals. We’re all in this together.”
Tellez joined SSI in 2000 as senior vice president – operations, joining the team after managing large programs in environmental and operations for Lockheed Martin. He earned his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and a master’s degree from Harvard University.
Now in its 13th year, the Supply & Demand Chain Executive “Pros to Know” awards recognize both ends of the supply chain. This includes honoring the “providers,” which includes individuals from software firms, service providers, consultancies or academia who helped their supply chain clients or the supply chain community prepare to meet industry challenges. This also includes honoring the “practitioners,” e.g., those supply chain executives who demonstrated leadership by managing risk in the supply chain; provided competitive advantage; and delivered value to the bottom line.
