As an integrated supply services company, Synovos is in the thick of the fight when it comes to maintaining essential businesses during the COVID-19 crisis.
Clients in industries like pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, paper, chemicals, and more rely on us to provide the materials they need to maintain production. It’s what we do. Without the dedicated personnel we provide, our clients would simply be left to fend for themselves. Luckily, that is not the case.
We have more than 600 employees across North America, Europe and Singapore, working to source material, deliver that material, track usage and sustain the supply chain.
Nowhere is that more evident than in the battle to find PPE, or personal protective equipment. Masks, thermometers, protective coveralls, goggles and other critical materials are in short supply and high demand.
Our clients depend on us to source these necessary materials to the best of our abilities and deliver them where needed. And we’re thankful for their understanding in working in such a challenging environment.
For the last six weeks, since late January, our team of commodity managers has worked 20-hour days to meet that demand for some very large international companies, including some of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in the world. While some companies are working to develop products to address COVID-19, others are making pharmaceuticals many of us need on a daily basis.
Our efforts are helping those companies focus on what they do best, whether it’s manufacture product related to COVID-19 or not.
It’s a stressful time. Stressful for clients, commodity managers and suppliers alike.
It’s also, in a strange way, comforting knowing that such dedication and cooperation exists.
At some point in the future, the shortages will subside, the stress will ease, and we will all return to some semblance of normalcy. When we get there, hopefully, many will heed the lessons our teams are learning in real time and manage the MRO supply chain much more effectively and safely.
When that happens, Synovos will be here, willing to assist.
In the meantime, thank you to our clients, suppliers and especially those teammates – sourcing, operations, human resources, IT, and management alike – working the front lines of this supply chain battle. Your efforts are not going unnoticed.
